Why is Jack Shepherd so popular right now? Hard to say, so lets take a look at what Jack Shepherd has been doing recently. His character, David Platt, has always had strong storylines in Coronation Street, and in the past couple of weeks, we have seen David Platt, at boiling point, because his half brother, Nicky, is back on the Street. Nicky and Davids ex girlfriend, Tina, had a short encounter in a nightclub, and David thinks he knows what's going on, and he may be right.

What has Jack Shepherd been up to off screen?

Jack p Shepherd, has not been up to much recently. In Early 2009, he became a father, and since then, has kept a low profile. His character is going to have a major storyline soon, when he tries to save his mother Gail's life. Gail turns out to be the prime suspect, when Joe, Gails new husband, hatches a plan to fake his own death. When the plan goes wrong, and Joe dies, Gail's mobile phone has text's, that seem to show that she killed him, so he destroys it, by throwing it in the Manchester Canal.
