The United States has now closed it's embassy in Yemen, because of ongoing threats from terrorist group Al Queda.

The recent events, including the failed attack on Christmas day, and the on going trouble in Yemen, have given the US a no win situation. Some officials believe that Yemen is on the verge of collapse, and the Government there is asking for help from outside, to try and bring the country back to a calm state.

The United States and UK, are proposing plans to create a joint Anti-Terrorist force inside Yemen, to try and stop the ever increasing number of Al Queda suspects hiding away there. President Obama, has said he will double the amount of US Military Assistance in Yemen, to try and help out.

Here is what President Obama said about the recent failed attack on Christmas Day :

"We're learning more about the suspect. We know that he travelled to Yemen, a country grappling with crushing poverty and deadly insurgencies," the US president said on Saturday.
"It appears that he joined an affiliate of al-Qaeda and that this group, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula trained him, equipped him with those explosives and directed him to attack that plane headed for America."

It is not known when the US Embassy will reopen in Yemen.
