Tributes to Rupert Hamer.

Sky News's Geoff Meade - "Rupert got on with the job and died where he would have wanted to be - right at the front.

"He had a family and would have felt a responsibility towards that, but he was an extremely professional journalist and would have weighed up the risks.

"He was in an armoured, protected vehicle and would have balanced the odds but nowhere is safe in Afghanistan."

Defence Secretary, Bob Ainsworth paid tribute to the pair's "hard work and professionalism".

Prime Minister Gordon Brown praised the pair's "courage, skill and dedication" of reporting from the frontline so the world "could see and read about our heroic troops".
