When the planned march through Wootton Bassett was announced, their was complete and utter disgust in the UK, from not only family members of those fighting, and those who have been killed in recent wars, but also by the general public, who thought this march was in bad taste.
The reasons for canceling the planned march were given by Islam4UK leader Anjem Choudary.
"We at Islam4UK have decided, after consultation with others, including our Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad, that no more could be achieved even if a procession were to take place in Wootton Bassett.
"And in light of this we would like to announce today that there will no longer be a procession through this market town."
This will bring enormous relief to those people who live in Wootton Bassett and the surrounding towns. The local people were worried that this march by Islam4UK, was going to cause problems from people who would show their disgust at the march, causing possible fighting and disruption.
Islam4UK leader Anjem Choudary, went on to say that, "Even though this march has been canceled, that does not mean that we will not continue to show the real cost of the fight against terrorism".
