The 26 year old player, died this morning (Sunday 1-17).
On Sunday morning, health issues prompted Adams girlfriend to call the emergency services, and he was pronounced dead at the Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, South Carolina.
"We are stunned and saddened by the news of Gaines' passing" the Bears franchise said in a statement. "Our prayers are with his family during this difficult time."
His death will come as a massive shock, not only to Chicago Bears fans, but to the whole NFL.
Losing a player at such a young age is heart breaking, and many prayers will be said today for Gaines Adams.
In his three-year NFL career, Adams played in 47 games and recorded 13.5 sacks.
What is an Enlarged Heart?
