Times Square has now reopened after a massive police investication into a suspicious van which was parked unattended. The 1992 Dodge van was parked in a row beneath some large billboards, and after evacuating the near by area, police used a robot to get a closer look.
The area between Nasdaq and Conde Publishing was blocked off.
Their have been no threats or reports to the police as of yet.
New Years Eve is always a busy time for Times Square, and the police were just being extra careful, if you are attending the New York New Years Party, expect extra police this year.
